Medium-energy particle spectrometer (MEPS) data from October 1, 1991, near 2000 UT. The top two spectrogram panels show electrons and ions which are precipitating into the atmosphere. The bottom panel shows albedo electrons. Low-energy particles are detected in the auroral zone between 1950 and 2007 UT. The high-intensity, low-energy flux observed betwen 1948 and 1954 UT is the tail of the thermal background plasma.
